Trio of Righties Return, Bolster Mainers Staff
By Dan Acheson

SANFORD, Maine – The Sanford Mainers are pleased to announce the return of right-handed pitchers Colin Snow (So, Georgia Southern), Dustin Ramey (Sr, UMass-Lowell), and Kyle Davis (Ju, Keene State) laying a firm foundation for the Moose pitching staff.

In 2009 Colin Snow was a go-to arm on the staff for Sanford. Snow appeared in seven games, starting six, and finished with a perfect 3-0 record. The Alpharetta, Georgia native was among the team leaders in wins (3), ERA (1.77), innings pitched (35.2), runs allowed (11), and strikeouts (33). In his first year for the 2009 SoCon Champion Georgia Southern Eagles, Snow compiled a 4-3 record in 18 appearances, all but three coming from the Eagles bullpen. In 45.1 innings the right-hander posted a 3.77 ERA, allowing only 19 earned runs to score, while striking out 35 opposing batters and walking only 18. It was this output from the mound that earned Snow a spot on the 2009 Southern Conference All-Freshman Team.

Dustin Ramey returns for round two with the Moose. For Sanford in 2009, Ramey was a horse, starting six games, logging 28.1 innings in which he posted an 0-1 record with a 6.35 ERA. Lack of run support really hurt Ramey in his first campaign with the Mainers, but the righty finished strong striking out 18 and only walking seven. In his first year back from injury with the UMass-Lowell River Hawks, Ramey finished the season with eight starts earning a 2-4 record with a 3.17 ERA, striking out 42 and only walking 13 in 54 innings.

2010 marks the third tour of duty with the Mainers for Kyle Davis. In his second year with the Moose, Davis was a mainstay out of the bullpen. Making eight appearances during the regular season, the righty had no record, but a 2.13 ERA, and accumulated 10 strikeouts to only two walks. It was in the postseason where Davis shined for Sanford. Appearing in three games, Davis won two of them pitching 10 strong innings, the most by any Sanford pitcher during the 2009 postseason. En route to his 2-1 record Davis held batters to a .216 batting average against allowing only eight hits in 37 at-bats. Davis will be a first-time member of the Keene State University Owls pitching staff in 2010, after transferring from the UMass-Lowell system.
