Jim attended Southern New Hampshire University in his freshman year.  Prior to that, he played baseball and football at Marlborough (Mass.) High School, and was an All-State selection in baseball as a senior.  Jim was named team Most Valuable Player as a junior and a senior.  His team was four-time league champion and reached the state championship game his sophomore season.  Jim was team captain as a junior and a senior.

Jim has had an outstanding year at Southern Connecticut.  In 12 appearances, he is 9-1 with a 0.99 ERA.  Jim has pitched 82 innings and given up only 9 earned runs.  His walk to strikeout ratio is 7 to 1, with 125 strikeouts and only 18 walks.  His opponents are hitting only .163 against him on the season.  Based on these results in college, the Mainers are looking forward to Jim’s arrival in June.
