Sound Familiar? Mainers Square Off with Vermont in Round One
Sanford hosts Game one on Saturday night
Sanford. ME- The last time Sanford tasted
postseason baseball, the Mainers saw their championship aspirations come to an
end at the hands of the Vermont Mountaineers. In a series that saw three one-run
decisions, the Mountaineers outlasted Sanford in game three with a 3-2 victory.
Now manager Joe Brown and the rest of the Sanford faithful will have a chance at
redemption as they host Vermont in game one of round one of the NECBL playoffs
Saturday night at 6:30 at Goodall Park.
Game two will be played a Recreation Field in Montpelier Sunday night at 7:00.
If necessary, the third and final game of the series would shift scenes back to
Sanford Monday night at 6:30. The winner of the series would battle the winner
of the North Shore/Keene series in the second round. The Mainers are 11-9
all-time in playoff games, including a 1-2 record against the Mountaineers.
Sanford dominated the season series against Vermont this summer, winning five
out six contests between the two.
